Before your FAA medical exam:
1. Register via MedXpress through FAA (link below)
2. Ensure adequate sleep hygiene (good nights rest)
3. Drink plenty of water the day of medical exam.
4. Avoid heavy carb/sugary meal at least 4 hours prior to exam
5. Wear glasses/Contacts to exam
6. be sure you have had a recent eye exam prior to medical exam
7. Blood pressure should be adequately controlled prior to medical exam (Passing <155/95 for FAA, Preferred <140/90)
8. Hearing is tested with a conversational test. Can you hear a soft voice 6 feet away in a quiet room.
9. EKG are indicated for certain medical conditions and first class medical exams.
10. Bring any documentation from your physician if it is other than from a routine check-up over the last 3 years.
11. Special Issuance (including SODA) paperwork for previously approved medical condition by the FAA.
12. Updated list of medications or surgeries since last medical exam completed.
13. Recent alcohol or substance issues? Contact us first to ensure proper paperwork is brought to the exam.
14. New diagnosed medical condition since last medical certificate? Contact us for consultation to ensure everything is completed prior to your exam. An exam can only be held for 14 days.
